Ike Uche denies that he demanded an apology before playing for Super Eagles

After being snubbed by the Super Eagles head coach, Steven Keshi regarding his attempt to join the squad for the FIFA 2014 World Cup, Nigerian forward, Ikechukwu Uche who presently plays for Villareal in Spain has refuted claims by Nigeria head coach that he demanded an apology before considering the super eagles invitation.

DailyPost recalls that the Super Eagles coach on Wednesday stated that the player was not called up to join the squad for the African nations cup qualifiers against Congo and South Africa because he insisted on an apology.

However, reacting to the claims by the head coach, Uche said he never wanted any special treatment to play for his nation.

He took to his twitter page to say “its an honour to play for Nigeria. I don’t expect to be begged or given special treatment. I’m available when/if considered for selection.”
