The Commissioner for Health in Rivers State, Dr Sampson Parker, yesterday said cholera outbreak in 11
communities in the state had claimed 20 lives. According to him, the outbreak
was reported on the 5th of January, 2015 and 171 cases as so far
been recorded, with 20 deaths in the outbreak.
He however said Government health officials are doing
everything to curb the outbreak and those affected are currently been taken care
of. He said the government has also made clean water available at the affected communities.
