PHOTOS: China's Fattest Man Loses Weight Without Surgery

China's fattest man who weigh 250KG has managed to lose 80KG after a diet lasting five years.

Liang Yong, 26, was last seen being transported on a steel reinforced truck to carry his huge weight.

Now though he is happy to show himself off on the electronic scales, weighing in at a comparatively healthy 145KG in a hospital in the city of Chongqing in south-western China.

When he was first treated at hospital he had to be taken there on the special reinforced trailer, as he could not fit in the ambulance.

After he was recorded as the country's fattest man he went on a diet but said he deliberately wanted to lose weight slowly so that his skin stretched back and he did not suffer any adverse health effects often associated with crash diets.

He said: "I concentrated on a healthy diet, and regular exercise as soon as I was able to move well enough."

He said his original weight problem had simply been the fact that he was born heavy weighing in at 11 lbs, and continue growing since then.
