Sunderland player, Adam Johnson suspected of defiling underage girl

Dueham Police in England have arrested Sunderland winger, Adam Johnson on suspicion that he had carnal knowledge of a 15 year-old girl.



The 27 year-old former Middlesborough, Watford and Manchester City player has been suspended by his current employers, Sunderland.

He is grounded until the conclusion of investigation by the Police.

Adam joined Sunderland in 2010 on a £10m deal and four years later in January 2014 was award with the PFA player of the month following a hat-trick against Fulham at the Craven Cottage.

He will miss the club’s away trip to Hull City on Tuesday night due to the arrest.

Johnson’s arrest follows reports of a youth player in Rochdale who threatened to defile Steven Gerrard’s three year-old daughter.
