The son of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has is injured after reportedly being shot by Boko Haram
insurgugents during an operation in Mubi, Adamawa State. He sustained
serious injuries to his legs and was being transported to the hospital at the time of this report. Adeboye
Obasanjo, an army engineer, was a Lieutenant Colonel at the 3rd
Division in Jos, Plateau State, and his platoon engaged with the Boko
Haram militants in Adamawa State. It is also reported that 24 soldiers
were killed during this operation.
Adamawa State has been under
siege along with Borno as Boko Haram and the Nigerian military engage in
vicious battles. Earlier today it was announced that Adamawa State
University in Mubi was shut down indefinitely for security reasons.
