It has been learnt that the body of late actor Muna Obiekwe, who passed away January 18, is currently at the Nigerian Naval Reference Hospital‘s morgue in Alakija, Satellite Town, Lagos.
According to The NET, the body of the 36-year-old Nollywood star was brought in from a private hospital in Festac, which was disclosed by a anonymous attendant at the morgue.
It is reported that Muna’s corpse will remain at the guarded Naval base before being moved by his family to St. Edwards Hospital‘s morgue in Obosi, Onitsha, in his home state Anambra.
It has been gathered that the body will be moved to Anambra January 24. However Muna’s grieving widow refused to comment on the issue when contacted.
The woman called on respect for privacy in this hard period of their family’s life and reportedly provided strict instructions in the Naval morgue regarding the information spread.

Social critic Charles Novia even expressed rage over some rumours related to the cause of his death. He was quoted as saying:
“Other reports say that he was a heavy drinker of hard liquor and smoked a lot and there were assertions that these must have caused his health issues. There’s nothing much to say about that. Artistes generally imbibe in habits which act as a counterbalance to the demands of their jobs. How a man smokes and drinks should not be anyone’s worries. It is the self-moderation switch in the artiste which should be scrutinized when such happens rather than what he does in his leisure.”
