Former Vice President Atiku, Denies Having Hand In Saraki's Emergence As the Senate

Former vice-president Atiku Abubakar has denied any complicity in Saraki’s election which thwarted the wishes of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a statement issued on friday by the spokesman for the former Vice President described the rumor as baseless and unfounded allegations that Atiku conspired with the PDP or Saraki to ‘sabotage’ the APC.
It would be recalled that Senate President, Bukola Saraki, visited former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar immediately after emerging the number 3 citizen of Nigeria.

The statement further stated that Atiku could have congratulated Senator Ahmed Lawan (or any other leader) if he had won. It added that Atiku remained a loyal party member having supported the Buhari presidential campaign.

Atiku's spoke-person stated that visits by politicians and the APC leaders including that of the Senate President are common political rituals in the former vice president’s Asokoro residence.
